The Benelli can probably go a bit longer between cleanings than the Beretta, and is super easy to clean/maintain on a day-to-day basis (i.e., clean the barrel and put it back in the safe), but when a total cleaning is called for (i.e., action spring, etc.), will likely involve slightly more effort and take a bit more time than the typical Beretta.

Plus the aftermarket is larger for the M4, the 1301 has a more limited aftermarket. The 1301 is much lighter, which can be plus for certain uses, but home defense isn't one of them.
