The proper repair for that is to replace all of the high presure fuel side and flush the low pressure side. A failure of the hpfp sends tiny little metal bits into the fuel injectors damaging them. My 05 was making the same “ticking” noise under acceleration and it ended up with all of my injectors needing to be cleaned. They were all luckily within spec after a good cleaning.
