If you use the slide STOP lever to release the slide, it will cause excessive wear on the slide. By using the "slingshot" method to release the slide, you all but eliminate this problem. GSG 1911/22 problem. My GSG seems to have one nagging problem, failure to go into battery. I've checked and what is holding it open, that fraction of an inch, is the extractor. It hits the face of the extractor slot, and stops the slide just short of battery. I believe I forgot to lube the gun last cleaning. The 1911 shot fine. Way better off with a TX-22 either the regular or competition model. I have both and love them. With the original TX-22 I put 15 rounds on a upper body steel plate at 50 yards in about 6 seconds. The mosquito/firefly is made by GSG., Round #3 of the 10 CCI SV rounds failed to chamber, but ejected the spent case and cocked the hammer. The rest chambered and fired. The Norma TAC22 immediately had issues, not ejecting or cocking the hammer. My S&W M&P22 Compact won't shoot it either, so it's not just the GSG.
