I have been a Valvoline oil fan for over 40 years in my cars. For the bikes I've tried Honda branded oil, Castrol, etc. and wasn't happy with the engine sounds after 2K miles. Drain it then spin the wheel to get a little more out. Then fill it. That is by the book. I have a syringe (sp) to help get the oil back in there.
