I would add some timing down low before peak torque. I too had started out at 22-23 there and ramped it up to 26 up top. Was suggested to up that to the mid-high 20s but keep the 4200+ cells the same and I got a whole bunch of torque down there., If you want to add boost, like turbocharging, then go LQ4. If you just want to race between stoplights, then start with the L92. The L92 has less low-rpm torque than the LQ9. The defecit at 1500 rpm is 30 ft-lbs.
