There is a difference in a soft clip and a hard clip. When you start smelling voice coil it's time to give it a rest. I have yet to experience that with my skar ddx15 dvc 2 ohm, probably because with box rise and efficiency I'm only getting 800 watts out of a 1000 watt amp that was dyno'd at 1,007 at 1 ohm. Should have got the skarTakes your breath away. This amp can power 3 700 watt 8 inch subs and a 10 inch 2000 watt sub like nothing. I can play it the full hour drive to work and not once has it overheated nor does the amp get really hot!!! Amazing!!!!!
