How to get storm crystals

Every time I do a storm crystal mission, it says I need 5 crystals. When I get to the planet, it says I need 20 and the are always in 1-2 crystal clumps and the storms don’t last long. Takes forever to get 20. I think I got spoiled on my first storm crystal planet where I had longer storms and clumps of 4-6 crystals
